Mayor Of Albany - New Visions
Albany is a great city.
Our greatest asset exists in the people who live and own businesses here. Longtime neighborhood residents and a growing downtown population recognize the unique character and value found in calling Albany “home.” We are blessed with a population mosaic that brings with it diverse local restaurants, a thriving art scene, and vibrant communities within our historic neighborhoods. We have beautiful parks, world class educational institutions, and nationally recognized museums and cultural attractions.
BUT ALBANY FACES CHALLENGES.
We need stronger public safety, improved housing affordability, and lower taxes for businesses and residents. Albany residents seek financial security and excellence in our schools. Senior residents, young people, and families deserve more opportunities to be involved in a vibrant community.
Community engagement can only be expected when you give the residents what they need and deserve. As a lifelong Albany resident and a public servant of over 40 years, I know what needs to change. I’m committed to making those changes.
MY GOAL
To deliver an action plan that connects City Hall with businesses, neighborhoods, law enforcement, and most importantly, residents. I will promote civic engagement that aims to build an environment where residents will interact with their community, coming together for shared decision-making. This process will promote and ensure that equitable investment, conditions and outcomes are present throughout the city. With inclusive engagement we will build stronger community relations, as residents and the business community feel connected and invested in the future of the city of Albany.
